Close the Front Door!

Everyone likes to make a positive first impression and the front door of your home or office is a great place to start.  This is a great opportunity to reveal a bit of your personality and offer a preview of what might be waiting inside.  Here are a few colorful entrys to spark your imagination.  Why not buy a gallon of you favorite color paint and freshen up your front door this weekend!  It is an inexpensive and easy project that can give your home a new look.

I just love this tourquoise and black color combination.  As a matter of fact, my front door is very similar, except my colors are reversed with the tourquiose door and black door trim.  It is unexpected but still very classic.  As a side note, for those of you who have difficulty growing flowers, notice the boxwood in the pots next to this entry which are much easier to maintain than flowers.

I love all the flowering vines and greenery shown on these facades.  They really help to create a strong focal point and add fabulous texture.

Don't forget to paint the inside of the door as well and it does not necessarily have to match the exterior.

Don't forget to incorporate stylish house numbers which should compliment the overall decor.

I love this metal and glass door.  It is fabulous with the limestone facade!

With all the various styles from which to choose, there is no excuse for a boring entryway.  Elements to consider include a door knockers, mailslots, house numbers, color and trim details and perhaps sidelights or transom window details.  And don't forget your potted plants or flowers.  We'd love to know what you are doing to make your front door unforgetable.

  1. These doors are lovely. Their pleasant appearance is like telling the people that they are most certainly welcome to enter the house. They all look inviting, and I believe they definitely give a good impression of the home and the people living in it.

  2. That last one is really cute. I love how the yellow color stands out from the white wall. Its glass part also lifts up it's design a lot.

  3. All of these doors are absolutely beautiful! They have a different character and have a unique design aesthetic from one another. However, the one I like the most is the 3rd door to the last. It makes me feel like I'm somewhere in the Mediterranean. Plus, the color is popping out! I also love its sun ray-like edge!
